Resilience 3 Lookbook

Resilience

Black becomes the centerpiece for the first time in a DORIAN WHO collection, reflecting the founder's mental state during its production. Juxtapositioned to the vibrant colors, prints and textiles that framed the lavish Persian dynasties that came before. Emphasis is placed upon long, shapeless pieces that are simultaneously devoid of conventional silhouettes and the limitations of gender norms.

Alternatively, organza sleeves and stretch fabrics make the pieces sensual and adaptable for any season. Oversized hoodies, biker shorts and cropped shirts bring the clean, current, comfortable and practical advantages of streetwear. Paired seamlessly with billowing silhouettes, thrifted pieces, and immaculate accessories, they attract the eye and invite the avant-garde into daily life, playing with interesting shapes and colors which further contribute to one's visual story.

Velvets, silks and brocade provide the wearer with a luxurious feel while beautifully accentuating the garments exquisite craftsmanship.

Collaboration has been an essential and purposeful part of this process. The practice itself aligns seamlessly with our core value of sustainability while simultaneously opening a creative channel directed towards creating art of the highest aesthetic value. By allowing the natural integration of collaboration into this work, we can facilitate and instantiate a shared vision, inviting varying levels of expertise, creativity and perspective to create a truly unique and interdisciplinary body of work.

A beautiful yet melancholic manifestation of Dorian’s time as a young girl growing up in post-revolutionary Iran. This collection directly represents the longing of a time once encapsulated by glamor, excess and liberation, that suddenly was replaced by an expressionless period of restriction and constraint. A tale that resonates and reverberates with millions across the world.
